Here are some of my recent and past activities.

1st to 31st January 2026

I was happy to take part as an activator for GB2WWA in the 2026 World Wide Award event.  Although I did make a few SSB contacts in this event the vast majority were CW.  It was great fun being the operator of an "in demand" callsign!

The GB2WWA team made a total of 169,596 contacts across all bands and modes during this event and finished in 3rd place worldwide.  The certificate below shows that I was placed 52nd for numbers of CW contacts over the event.....there were a total of 510 CW operators worldwide.  All of those contacts were make using the end fed ("EFT") antenna described elsewhere on this site.

I know that there were people that didn't like this event and regarded it as just yet another contest.  However, it did generate a lot of activity on the bands.  Personally I am looking forward to taking part in a 1 week sprint event later this year and the 2027 WWA event in January 2027.
